Intuit’s Week of Service Inspires Employees to Care and Give Back


How empowerment at work also means serving the communities we love

Intuit’s corporate goal is to power prosperity around the world. But creating a workplace culture where every employee brings their best self to work daily to do the best work of their lives goes beyond the office.

Helping employees feel connected to their communities plays an important part in their overall well-being. As the corporate social responsibility arm of the company, “We Care & Give Back” (WCGB) was designed for community outreach via donated time and money throughout the year. More specifically, every Intuit campus takes part in the “Week of Service” annually.


Week of Service

A week dedicated to giving back to our communities by volunteering with local nonprofits or charities we’re are passionate about is the perfect opportunity to help power prosperity for those who need it most. In 2018, 17 Intuit offices are taking part in the initiative, from Singapore to London, Hod Hasharon to Edmonton, Bangalore to Sydney, as well as eight U.S. cities.


Service made easy

Every full-time Intuit employee is eligible for 32 volunteer hours under the WCGB initiative, with Intuit matching donations up to $5,000 as well. In 2017, Intuit employees donated over 30,000 hours to charities around the world, with a total of $2.5 million in donations matched. From a live auction in Singapore to clearing nettles at Regents Park or rock painting in Tucson and volunteering with the Salvation Army in Sydney, no task was too big or small for the global Intuit teams.


A proven recipe for positive workplace morale

A study from Deloitte revealed that employers who encourage and promote volunteering boost morale, workplace atmosphere, and brand perception. In fact, 70 percent of respondents believe volunteering works better than company-paid happy hours, while 77 percent say that volunteering is essential to their well-being.
