1. My employees sometimes forget to bring their cell phones to the job site. How can I get those employees clocked in quickly, without using a computer?

2. My employees sometimes forget to clock in or out, and I’m drowning in timesheet edit requests. How can I put a stop to this madness?

If “tracking time” is a new policy within your company, it’s going to take some getting used to. Employees are bound to mess up from time to time while they make the transition.

Avoid drowning in timesheet edit requests by allowing employees to manage their own timesheets — at least, in the beginning. TSheets keeps an accurate-to-the-second and detailed log of every single edit, so you’ll always be able to see exactly what changes were made. Then, after they’ve adapted to using TSheets, you can disable timesheet editing for employees. The edit requests should be much further and fewer between.

Take it one step further by encouraging your employees to turn on clock in/out notifications. If they clock in using a mobile device, TSheets will send them a text or push notification reminding them to clock in at the beginning of their shift and out at the end. If they’re on a computer, TSheets can send email reminders. Suddenly, there’s no excuse for forgetting to clock in. These friendly alerts increase time tracking compliance by up to 99 percent.


3. My employees just aren’t tracking time, even though I’ve asked them to. How can I get them on board?

If employees aren’t used to tracking time, they might resist the new requirement or simply “forget” to clock in each day.

Avoid this by making time tracking an official policy. And put it in your employee handbook. If you’re not sure where to start, the Society for Human Resource Management has a great example, but check with your employment counsel before publishing an official policy.

    Greetings, I am a 58 year old diesel mechanic in boise that recently switched from Timepunch to Tsheets mainly for the gps tracking, helps me remember what the hell I was doing. So far I like this program and have two questions, How to set it to report in one hundred’s of an hour and If You can recommend anyone in boise to clean up this win7 pro laptop since I don’t seem to know the shit form the shineola and do more harm than good.

      To answer your question, yes, TSheets can report time in decimal format, or one hundredths of an hour. Most reports default to decimal format automatically, but you can choose to run reports in hour/minute/second format instead.

    I would like to see T Sheets add mileage features. From clock in at a client location to the next client location. This would allow our company to track mileage from point to point, and be able to do analysis and/or reimburse for actual mileage.

    We recently started with tsheets and its been great althought some employees do their clock out but when we are checking they do not have a map to check were they clicked out. Are they doing something?

      @Isabel Diaz, if your employees clock in and out out from a computer, GPS points are not recorded. If they are clocking in and out from a mobile device, their location should show up on the map.

      It’s possible that your employees are disabling the location services on their phones, which would prevent GPS location tracking. If that’s the case, you can require location services to be turned on in order for your employees to clock in and out.     Is it possible to hide shift totals so that others cannot see how many hours an employee has worked?

      @Travis Anderson, great question! Unfortunately, there is no way to hide hours worked in the Who’s Working window on a mobile device. However, if you or your employees use the web dashboard, you can turn on the “hide hours from employees” setting in company settings. Find it under company settings > advanced > time options. This DOES block employees from seeing their own shift totals as well. I hope that helps!     Hi, is it possible to set on schedule more than one job per day? This is important especially for our company, which despite preset jobs on schedule does also service calls ( 2 to 3 ) within the day.

    One of my employees logs into t sheets on their phone and clocks in. It shows them being clocked in on their phone and tracks their time but on my computer they are not showing up as on the clock. I have all managerial access and can see everyone else clocked in, just not theirs. It worked for the first couple of weeks, but then this started happening a couple days ago. Any suggestions?
