New Year? Try New Decade.

Published

You’re most likely getting ready to pause and reflect on the past 12 months–it’s that time of year. Here at TSheets? We’re taking the opportunity to review the past decade. That’s right, decade. TSheets is turning 10 in a couple of months–the big double digits. Interestingly enough, my daughter Nicole just turned ten. It’s incredible for me to see the person she’s becoming. So grown up. And at the same time just getting started in life. She’s learning her strengths, building her confidence, and turning into one hell of an athlete and entrepreneur.

As TSheets turns 10, we’re grown up in some ways (did you see we were just rated Best Time and Attendance System for Businesses with a Mobile Workforce?) But in other ways, we’re literally just getting started. Like Nicole, we’re in the pre-teen phase, but instead of driver’s ed and college on the horizon, our team’s sights are set on the unified goal of being the #1 employee-rated and requested time tracking system on the planet. We now have 100 employees and nearly 20k customers using TSheets in more than 100 countries–which also means there are still 96 countries and millions of small businesses out there that haven’t been introduced to TSheets.

As you take time to reflect at the end of this year, and I highly recommend that you do, here are a few questions that I ask both of myself and of my executive team: Where did you start the year 2015? What were some of your wins and losses? What season of life / business are you and your organization in? What are your SMART goals for the next 12 months? Can you look beyond that and into the coming years? And finally, what’s your big, hairy audacious goal?

Here’s to where we’ve been, where we’re going, and the people by our side.

Cheers,

Thank you to everyone who voted for TSheets in Entrepreneur’s Top Cultures Award. It’s an honor to be awarded second place in the medium-sized businesses division.

Do you want to become a better leader? Or, let me put it this way: Have you thought about taking up flying? My mention in lifehack.org explains why.

The number of incredible team members I work with at TSheets has grown a LOT this year–but our recruiting budget is still zero. Read my interview with Rieva Lesonzky on AMEX Open Forum to find out how.
