Time Tracking via SMS
If our Android and iPhone applications weren’t enough for you, we’ve now added text message functionality to the list. Instead of making a call to clock in/out, or connecting to a wi-fi hotspot to manage your TSheets account, employees can now send a simple text to start or stop the clock, switch job-codes, or add notes to their timesheet.
The TSheets text messaging system is quite simple to use. To preserve control of your organization employees must be granted the “Mobile” permission before they will be allowed to track time with this text messaging system. This “SMS” functionality is available to all our paying account types.
- Log into your TSheets account
- Click on “Company Settings” and enable “Text Messaging” from the Add-ons menu
- Read the comments in the window that pops up
- Click the “Text Messaging” link under the “Add-ons” section of the main menu
- Follow the directions and you’ll be setup in no time!
From now on, you can clock in and out, switch job codes, and add notes by texting to the number 313131. The TSheets system will automatically recognize your texts received at 313131 based upon your mobile phone number. Each time we receive a text message from you our system will reply with a confirmation message letting you know that the action was completed.
