TSheets has been migrated to a new servers over the previous week. Thanks to this transition we now have faster page load times and extra redundancy.
Until now TSheets has been running on a single server in Idaho Falls, ID. To ensure service availability we have regular system and database backups, and we have a stand-by server waiting around (that’s never been used to date).
We’re in the process of building up our environment so that we can hopefully never have any downtime. We decided on a hosting company that gives us our own virtual server. Slicehost seems like the best option for our needs at this point. At this point I’m very impressed with their setup and management options. I’ll report more about them later once they’ve proven themselves. At this point we have one virtual server with Slicehost, and we have TSheets running live from both our server in Idaho Falls and the Slicehost box. Now if one of those servers were to go down we already have another server that will instantly take over and keep things going :)
